SYNOPSIS:
Slumdog Millionaire is the story of Jamal Malik (Patel), an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India¹s "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?"
But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika (Pinto), the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show¹s questions.

The Star of the movie Dev Patel was first noticed when he appeared in the 1st two seasons of skins which channel 4 created he also is in a up and coming fantasy film called Airbender, since slumdog he is now known on a international scale.

Freida Pinto co-stars in Slumdog millionaire, it was actually her movie debut. She started off as a model and is soon to be the new face of L'Oreal and is rumoured to be the highest payed actress in bollywood. She is gonna be in two films in 2010 one of them is not a box office movie the other she will be in a film with Antonio Banderas and Anthony Hopkins. She is still not known on a international scale but shes up and coming.

Madhur Mittal who plays Salim in Slumdog has only starred in hindu movies and is not known on a international scale.

Anil Kapoor who plays the presenter of who wants to be a millionaire in slumdog has been acting since 1979 but slumdog was his first international film and he is also in the upcoming series of 24 at the start of 2010.

They used very bright colours on the poster and in the trailer they use certain dialouge from the movie in the trailer which draws you in to the story and also shows you differt parts of the stories which are very effective.

This was the film that made Ewan McGregor since this film hes moved on to star in the new star wars trilogy, moulin rouge and countless other box office hits he is known on a international scale.

Jonny Lee Miller who was married to angelina jolie wasn't in many big films but was in tv sows for the bbc and some american sitcoms he is not known on a international scale.

Robert Carlyle career just got better and better after this movie he starred in the english comedy full monty he has also played a james bond villain in the movie the world is not enough and had the lead roll in 28 weeks later he has also gone into doing american tv shows such as 24 and is now the leading roll on stargate universe.

Ewen Bremmer career seemed to go up and down he was in the movie juge dredd with syvester stallone in 1995 then did trainspotting he has also been in other uk productions such as snatch and has also been in some american productions such as black hawk down and pearl harbour and also aliens vs predator but they was only small parts he is not known on a international scale.

Ewan McGregor was named Best Actor from the London Film Critics Circle, BAFTA Scotland Awards, and Empire magazine.[28] Hodge was also nominated for an Academy Award for Writing Adapted Screenplay but failed to win.

the poster shows all 5 characters in a line like its a police line up they all look like totally different
people in the case they seem not to be intrested in the same things as each other and don't seem to be people who would be friends.

Both movies recieved complaints traispotting for its drug use and sexual scenes.Slumdog millionaire recieved criticism for how it portrayed how india was in a negative way and also for the word 'Slumdog' people took this in a negative way as people who are from them kind of places didn't like being called dogs and so stopped screening by attacking theartres in india.
